HOW DOES IT WORK?
Laser tattoo removal is exactly what the name suggests – it involves using a handheld device that emits pulses of laser light directly into the tattooed area. This light breaks down the pigments in the ink, leaving by-products that your body’s system is able to get rid of. These are flushed out over time, leaving the tattoo paler and less defined. Over the course of several treatments, your tattoo will become far paler, eventually being removed completely where this is possible.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Firstly, and most importantly, DON’T expect your tattoo to disappear overnight after a single session! Getting the ink into your skin took time and effort, getting it out takes effort too! After a single treatment you can expect to see some lightening of the area that has been worked on, and each subsequent session will build on this. It’s important to note that results vary – the colour and type of inks used, how long you’ve had it, and a range of other factors have an effect.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS?
Laser tattoo removal is a service that requires specialist training and knowledge in order to ensure that it is done properly and safely. The main risk involved is simply that the tattoo will not completely fade, something that our laser removal team will talk to you about this before any treatments. There is also a small chance that your skin may become slightly darker or lighter than surrounding skin, and a very small chance of scarring. We’ll be happy to discuss this with you.
